THE TEUTON PERIL. BERNIIARDI PREDICTS ANOTHER WAR. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, Aug. 2. The Berlin correspondent of the New York World interviewed General von Ucrnhardi. who prophesied another war, ind said he considered it right for England and France to inflict the most severe penalty on Germany, because this was Uio only way they could insure themselves against the Teuton peril. Ho said Germany might not keep her obligations, thus making another war necessary. He said the Kaiser should not be blamed for the war; he should be blamed only for not declaring war I sooner. General von Bernhardt does not think that the League of Nations will end wars, because the interests of the States always outweigh ideals. He says the German nation will again rise, and the more hate and revenge manifested towards Germany now the sooner and more violent will lie the reaction. —Alls. N.Z. Cable Assoc. ITALY. A Government decree prohibits the importation of a great number of manufactured and unmanufactured goods, including apparel, textiles, and agricultural machinery. Fifteen legislators protested that Parliament had not been consult- : ed, and asserted that tho prohibition would neriously damage the foreign I trade, especially the Anglo-Italian.—
