MILITARY DEFAULTERS LIST.
AN OTAGO CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The application by Reginald Charles Read, farmer, of Whenuakoa, to have his name removed from the military defaulters' list was heard by Mr. Widdowson, S-M., to-day. Counsel said that when Read was called up for military service he appealed. His appeal was dismissed by the Military Service Board. Applicant then wrote to the Minister of Defence lodging an appeal to be hoard before the final court of appeal. Read ignored three * notices for parade for medical examination, as he understood the appeal was pending. He was then brought before a court-martial and sentenced to 180 days' detention.
