ONEGA CAPTURED. THE TOWN IN FLAMES, By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlght. London, Aug. 3. A Bolshevik wireless message states that the enemy bombarded and captured Onega from the White Sea. The northem portion of the town is in flames, and fighting continues.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
MESSAGE TO AFGHANISTAN. Received Aug. 6, midnight. Moscow, Aug. 4. A Bolshevik wireless states that the Foreign Minister has sent a note to Afghanistan expressing his sympathy with the Afghans, pointing out that the Soviet Government had cancelled all secret treaties for the enslavement of small nationalities; and desired to recognise self-determination on the part of all nations, large or small. The Russian peasants had found that only under the Soviet system could they preserve themselves from the scourge of military dictatorship. Victors' would be theirs, not only throughout Russia, but internationally. Their enemies. would continue to crumble like General Koltohak.—Au,«. N.Z. Cable 4ssoc.
