BOXER STRIKES HIS HEAD.
_ A AND DIES IN HOSPITAL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Yesterday. During the Otago Boxing Association's tournament last evening, J. Keay was knocked out in the last round of a six round bout. Ho struck his head heavily on the floor as he vent down, and was removed to the hospital unconscious. He died this morning. His home was at Fairlie. EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. Dunedin, Last Night. An inquest on the body of Keay, the victim of the boxing fatality, opened tonight. The evidence showed that in the sixth round of a bout with Macdonald deceased was knocked down by a blow on the point. He fell on his black, and the back of his head struck the floor. Dr- Harrison said the bout was re markably clean on both sides. When Keay was injured both men were very tired, and, in witness' opinion, incapable of delivering a knock-out blow. The fall could have been produced as easily by a .push as by a blow. Deceased evidently suffered from concussion anl [cerebral irritation.
