PUNGAREHU FATALITY.

body of yorara native RECOVERED FROM RIVER. Sub-Inspector Hutton, of the New Plymouth police, has been advised by Constable O'Neill, of Rahotu, that on Monday he recovered the body of a young Native named Tairaia Harwood, aged about 22 years, from the Karoaiaia Stream, Pungarehu. Deceased was last »een alive on Sunday afternoon in the vicinity. A coat and hat and whisky flaak were found on the bank' of the river. It is understood that the health of deceased bad caused him recently to be the subject of peculiar delusions. On the matter being reported to the coroner (Mr. W. E. MaKean, S.M.) he directed that an inquest should be held before a local Justice of the Peace.
