STRANGE AFFILIATION CASE AT AUCKLAND.

Auckland, August 1. An affiliation case in which a ipan who had divorced his wife was charged with being the father of an illegitimate child of his wife's born niter the divorce, came before the Police Court this morning. Defendant pleaded not guilty. Sub-Inspector Wohlmann stated that the parties were divorced in November, 1918 (the decree being made absolute on March oth, J!)17), and subsequently tho woman and the divorced husband lived together in a house at Ellerslie for twelve months or more before another child was born to the woman. The mother died of influenza in November Inst, and the child was committed to an industrial school. The case for the police was that for more than twelve months prior to the birth of the child defendant and his divorced wife had lived together The. case was adjourned for further evidence.
