THE EX-KAISER.
HINDENBURG'S STATEMENTS. By Telejrapli.—Press Assn.—Copyright. New York, July 28. Field-Marshal von Hindenburg, interviewed by an American correspondent, said that if the trial of the ex-Kaiser was held it would violate international law and re-establish the ancient Koman precedent that for the vanquished it is a crime to defend their own country. He did not believe Marshals Focli or Haig or General Pershing supported the demand for the ex-Kaiser's trial. He thought that the German people would rise again, but not for a time. Von Hindenburg said that only dreamers thought there would be no more wars, and added: "There will be wars as long as mankind exists." Von Hindenburg praised the part taken in the war by the United States.— Axis. N.Z. Cable Assoc.
