The Union Company's new cargo freighter \\ atruna left San Francisco on July 26 for Auckland, Melbourne, and Sydney. The vessel Is due In Auckland about August 22. A Magisterial inquiry Into the stranding of the Upton Company's Kowhai at Farewell Spit on June 9tli, opened to-day. In his evidence the captain stated that if the course given by !
