Those supporting the motion pointed out that the last conference passed a motion claiming full eivtc and political rights, and that the corollary to that .motion was that the association should link up with some party. Those against the referendum expressed the opinion that members should be left free to support any party. The .motion wa.i lost. A motion of censure was passed on those members who were agitating in the direction of forming n. separate association. A resolution was carried: "That this conference views with great disfavor the resolution- of 1 censure passed by the Auckland section on the executive committee." A motion that the headquarters of the association be removed from Wellington was lost.
