MAIDEN FLAT, five furlongs.—Sir fanciful (0. McCarten) 1, 3 Hautawa 2, 5 Coral Queen 3. Also started: 7 Diamond Nap, 5 Bantry, 10 Captain Campbell, 11 Glenfinlas, 8 Lepanto, 9 Luke, 6 Vigolo, 13 Dixie Boy, 14 Te Kopua, 2 Achillion, 12 Cheval, 4 Moutoa Boy. Won all the way. PARQRANGI HACK STEEPLES, two miles.—l Stetson (J. Wairoa) 1, 4 Papariki 2, 7 Ringi 3. Also started: 9 Raukawa, 5 Miro, 8 Avondale, 10 Sam, 2 Walker's Ridge, 3 Captain Black, 6 Imshe. Won comfortably, a good race for second and third place. Time, 3min. 59sec. - WAIKANAE HACK HANDICAP, seven furlongs.—l Sir Fanciful (A. Oliver) 1, 4 Master Boris 2, 2 Utuwai 8. Also started: 3 Probity, 5 Lady Kilworth. Time, lmin- 324-ssec. Mr. J. Crooks, rider of Sail Home in the Ladies' Bracelet, also the owner, Mr. A. Atwood, were before the stewards for the horse's indifferent display in the early stages of the race. The owner'c explanation of the running was accepted, but the Wanganui District Jockey Club was recommended not to grant Crooks a license from August 1, for indifferent
