MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Central School was held on Monday e\ tiling, when there were present: Messrs S. G. Smith, M.P. (chairman), Vv. S. Cobham, G. 11. Dolby, T. Miss Prideaux in being transferred to Inglewood. Miss Prideaux has discharged her duties cosscientiously and well. I have in hand 14s Cd from the following Itowanljs the Ground Improvement Fund: N, Webster 2s od, Friend ss, Mrs. If, Frethey ss, V. Webster 2s. The committee approved the suggestion that the girls should wear their hair in pigtails or tied back Some discussion took place as to the means to be adopted to meet tbn large expenditure 011 improvements to the school around. The chairman pointed out that a Governmerit subsidv could he obtained for this and it was resolved to make a direct canvass of parents and friends to provide tin; balance. A sub-committee was appointed to make arrangements for the canvass.
