LIBELLED BY A NEWSPAPER. By Tdigraph.—Press Assn.—CopyrlsM. London, July 17. A libel action has been concluded in Edinburgh in which Colonel E. Gordon proceeded against the Dundee People's Journal, which published an interview Asserting that he ordered the Gordon Highlanders to surrender in the Mons retreat. Colonel Gordon denied the accusation, and said he ordered the men to fix their bayonets, summoned them to follow him and break through or perish; but a subordinate officer countermanded this order.
