FARMERS' UNION.

MEETING AT MAKETAWA. There was a meeting of the Maltetawa branch °* New Zealand Farmers' Union on Monday night 14th inst., when Mr J. Stephens presided and about half a acore of members were present, which, considering the w|-ather conditions, was a very creditable attendance, a resolution to approach the Minister for Agriculture by letter or wire, re the passage by rail of lime.
