•PROFITS FOR PAST TWO YEARSLondon, July 17. In the House of Commons, speaking on the Post ofl'ce estimates, Mr. Illingworth stated tha.t the 1913-14 profits were £5,222,000, and 1018-19 sis and a-half millions, which was a record. He estimated a deficit for 1010-20 of two millions, due to bonuses and higher wages. The telephones had been run at a loss because the war time charges had no,t been transferred to the subscribers.
