COMMENCING TO-NIGHT. •HEARTS OF THE WORLD." During the unravelling of the beautiful love story "Hearts of the World," which is to be presented at the Empire Theatre, New Plymouth, by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., to-night, to-morrow and Monday, and at a special matinee .tomorrow at 2 p.m., the onlookers are taken to the battlefields Of France, where are depicted a million fighting £nen in action, 20,000 horses, miles of artillery, squadrons of aeroplanes, fleets of Zeppelins, the destruction of cities, and a determined charge by a large number of tanks . As the little disturber, Miss Dorothy Gish, is said to be superb, while Lillian Gish, aa the heroins, has excelled her previous triumphs. "Her really fine and natural acting," states a New York critic, "entitles her to rank with the very best actresses .the screen has produced." Robert Harron, aB the hero, has scored an emphatic success, and Mr George Seigmann, -3 the bruta) German secret service agent, has further added .to his lame as a picture artist. The box plans for the full season are now open at Collier's. Intending patrons for the Saturday and Monday screenings are notified that they must reserve seats before 5 30 this evening as Collier's music shop will be closed on Saturday and Monday. MONTAGUE LOVE IN "TO HIM THAT HATH." The World feature "To Him That Hath," screening to-night and at both sessions to-morrow at Everybody's, gives Montagu Love one of ,thc best opportunities for the display of his talent# that he has ever had, and, needless to say, he makes the very best possible use of these opportunities. In order to shield a friend he assumes the gunt for a robbery which the friend had committed, and is sent to prison. The girl he ts in love with wavers in lier affection, but it is not until he has been released, and is apparently teaching a young boy to follow a life of crime that her love for him finally vanishes. She, however, had formed quite a wrong decision, 6ince in reality lie was leadiug the boy Into a life of honesty. The tribulations which he endures, and the hard uphill fight which faces him as a result of the prison stain, give ample opportunity for dramatic situations of compelling interest, and the story grips from firs.t to last,,.. The ending is a happy one, and the love theme throughout is convincing. The, part suits the strong personality of Montagu Love to perfection, and forms another triumph for this popular tateu actor. THE PEOPLE'S. LAST NIGIIT OF "IN JUDGMENT OF" The fine Metro play, "In Judgment Of," starring Anna Nilsson and Frank-' lin Farmmi, screens finally to-night at the People's. The supports include a laughable Christie comedy, and the latest Gazette. "THE WORLD FOR SALE." The big seven-reel Stuart Black tonproduction,' "Tli'e .'World For with an ail-afar oast,, commences, its. local season ..at., the People's to-morrow; afternoon at 2.
