The Ministry of Food has purchased 100,000 casks of Danish butter for delivery before the end of October, and regular weekly ihipments have com-menr-od. . The price has not been disclosed, but it is above 172s per cwt. f.o.b. The Ministry is also purchasing a considerable quantity of Canadian butter, and is offering to purchase 25,000 tons of Canadian cheese at 25 cents per noimd f.0.b., but the present price in Canada is about 30 cents.
