If very wet on Saturday the programme for that day will be carried out ou Monday, 21st., in addition to the other arrangements for the same day. If very wet on both Saturday and Monday tho programme will be abandoned and a gathering held in tho Coronation Hall at 3 p.m. In the event of either of the above courses being finally decided upon notice to .that effect will bo posted outside each Picture Theatre. 3* W. BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH. ~ yHE Public of New Plymouth are earnestly requested to strictly observe tho following notification from the New Zealand Government: "The people of New Zealand <re requested to suspend all functions, activities, and celebrations throughout tho Dominion on Peace Celebration Day (Saturday, July 19) from twelve noon until five minutes past that hour in memory of the brave men belonging to the Naval ana Military Forces of <sreat Britain and her Allies (especially of the New Zealand soldiers), the men of the Mercantile Marine, and also the noble army of Nursing Sisters and other heroic and devoted men and women who sacrificed their lives in the cause of freedom, liberty, and justice. During the period stated all processions should stop, all activities cease, and all transport services, motor cars, and vehicles cease running. All male persons should .uncover .their heads and all persons should stand in reverential silence during that period as a tribute to the honored dead." C. H. BURGESS, . Mayor.
