ENTERTAINMENTS.

THE PEOPLE'S. "IN JUDGMENT OF." One of the most absorbing of present day screen play is ,tlie five-part Metro production "In Judgment Of," based on Hid story and scenario of George .Baker and directed by Will S. Davis. It is a production that is good because it is good. One is impressed with a sensation of "all round excellence." When | you have finished looking at "Jn Judgment. Of" you will have lost any special interest which you have h)ad in individual names connected with the picture and you settle back in your chair with a sigh of relief at having viewed a production of a story of life as it really can happen—a story with a big situation presented consistently and artistically. The featured artists are Anna Q. Nilason and Franklin Farnum. The gazette, Travelog and Christie comedy complete a fine programme. EVERYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF "FIND THE WOMAN." The latest 0. Henry story to be adapted to the screen is "Find the Woman'' (Cherchez la Ferame), in which Alice Joyce, the lovely Vitagraph star, plays the part of Madeline Renard, a prima donna, recognised as being one of the author's most attractive and lovable creations. 0. Henry's. inimitable style, together with his facility for sustaining the suspense in his plots, and introducing the human heart-interest, have made his workß an immortal monument to his ability. "Find the Woman" is one of his most charming stories, and in the appealing gentleness and charm of the young opera singer, Alice Joyce is at ease. "Find the Woman" and the 11th episode of "The House of Hate" screen finally at Everybody's to-night. THE EMPIRE. D. W. GRIFFITH'S MASTERPIECE. "HEARTS OF THE WORLD." Commencing a three night season at the Empire to-morrow J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will present, for the first .time to the public of New Plymouth D. W. Griffith's famed spectacular motion picture drama, "Hearts of the World," which, it is said, outclasses both "Intolerance" and the "Birth of a Nation." Naturally special interest has been infused into the production by the fact that it wan taken at the express direction of tip British and French War Offices, and that Mr Lloyd George took a personal interest in its manufacture, In order to obtain realistic war episodes, Mr Griffith and his principal artists spent many months on the battlefields of France, but with the exception of the producer himself, who was twice hit by the explosion of shrapnel, they all escaped any serious mishap, although Lillian and Dorothy and Mrs Gish suffered badly from nerve troubles, for some time after their return to America. It is stated that it is not possible to give too exaggerated an idea of the magnitude of "Hearts of the World," but, judging by press reports from England and America, the extreme limit has been attained by Mr Griffith. Although "Hearts of the World" deals extensively with the war, it is the heart interest invested in what is said to be the sweetest love story ever told which has been instrumental in making it a greater success than "Intolerance." Prices of admission will be the same as other towns throughout the Dominion, viz., Us, 2g, and Is (plus tax), and the box plan is open at Collier's.
