OLD MAN FATALLY CRUSHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last N ; ght. Thomas Tl»pniton, over SO years of age, employed as a watchman'at Por! Chalmers, was crushed between two railway trucks during shunting operations on Monday evening. He ".vas removed to the cottage hospital, where he died to-day.
SUICIDE AT UPPER HUTT. Wellington, Lar.t Wight The superintendent of police lias received advice that Private A. J. McGhae, aged 34 years, who returned by the Kigoma, was found dead to-day, shot through the heart. Deceased left his mother's home at Upper Hutt taking a shot-gun, saying lie was going to shoot a hawk. Later, the body was found about half a mile away. A note was found near indicating his intention to shoot himself.
