WEDDING.
JULIAN—HOLMES. A pretty wadding was sohmnised at St. Barnabajs' Church, Opunake, on July 10, the contracting parties being Clarence Roy, Second son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Julian, and Elizabeth Constance, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Holmes. The ceremony Was performed by the Rev, Mr. Valmer, vicar of Opunake, the church, being beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, the bride was attired in white crepe de chine trimmed with pearls, and she Wore a _ court train lined with white satin, Whieh was' carried by her little nephew, Master Willie Sutton, of Marton, who was dressed In black velvet trimmed with real lace, with hat to match. She also wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, arranged with mob cap effect, and carried a bouquet of abutilon and daphne. She entered the church on the arm of her father to the strains of the hymn "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden." The bride was attended by Miss Mafjotie Cord, of Stratford, cousin of the bride; as chief bridesmaid, who Wore a smart frock of pale pink' crepe de chine, trimmed with black tulle. She wore a white hat, and carried a shower bouquet of yiofets and hardenfcergia. The other bridesmaid wa.s ,Miss Irene Julian, sister of the bridagroom, who **» gowned in' blue (Fugi silli, trimmed with black tulle. She wore a black tulle jiat, trimmed with pink and blue roses, and carried a shower bouquet of pink ericas and maidenhair fern. Each wore a gold ring set with ciirnets, the gift <jf the bridegroom. ' The bridegroom's present (to the bride was an amethyst and gold necklet, and the bride's present to the brid>v*Toom was a ring Bet with a large garnet. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Bridge, of Manais, as best man (a comrade iof the bridegroom's while on service in France), and also by Mr. D. Holmes, brother of the bride, as groomsman.
As the bridaj party left the church the AVedding March was played by Mrs. J .Fearer (sent.), of Opunaki> , Tho reception was held at "WillowOWe," Rhama (the residence of the •bride's parents). The wedding cake was made and given by Mr. and Mrs. A. Lile, of Inglewood, cousins of the bride. A large number of toast 9 were honored, that of the bride and bridegroom being propoßed by |tev. Mr. Palmer, who spoke very highly of the bride's good work during the influenza epidemic; also of the bridegroom's service for his-coun-try. The bridegroom very suitably responded. Mr. and Mrs. Julian left by in the afternoon, en route for Napier and Nelson, where the honeymoon is being spent, the brjde travelling in a gabardine costume and hat of grey and rose velvet. She also wore a beautiful fur-lined coat. The popularity of the bride and bridegroom was shown by the large number of presents.—Star.
