REPATRIATION.
W PLYMOUTH COMinTTJiJi, A meeting of the New Plymouth Repatriation Committee was" held last evening. Present: Messrs. C. H. Weston (chairman), W. J. Chaney, T, Furlong, ft W. Okey, E. Whittle, T. C. List, J. B. Rowlands, H. E. Cattley, E. J i Glark, E B. EUerm, and the secretary (Mr. A. S, Allen). . \ ] The Repatriation Department wrote! ptating that returned soldiers going into partnership in the purchase of a business or land were each entitled to the first £SO of a loan, free of interest. The Repatriation Department notified the completion of two loans for stock, the purchase of a business, and two loans for furniture. An application for a loan of £3OO for Stock, after being approved, had been Withdrawn by the applicant, who had made other arrangements for the accommodation. The Secretary notified that, he had semired employment for a returned man. five were now on the unemployment register, two of whom were likely to get positions soon. There had been nine applicants for homes, and three for land. These had ticulars and referred to the Commisbeen furnished with the necessary parpioner of Crown Lands. Six applications were received for loans of from £2OO to £3OO to purchase businesses or interests in them. ,iKve were approved, and in the case of fhe other further- details are to be Bought from a southern' Repatriation Board, in whose district the applicant iias been residing. Two applications for furniture loans W £SO apiece were approved, and another is to be referred to the local (Patriotic Committee Trainee's allowances were granted to three ex-soldiers, two taking up motorjar engineering, and the other electric l ..|aid lighting.
