'• - i TARIKI. ■ £ , '{From Our Own j A perfect evening prevailed on l Thursday last, when the residents of this districts welcomed back some' seyen !or eight of our local hoys. The even"ing took the form of a social. Better [music and supper could not have been wished for, the Inglewood orchestra being in attendance, extras being played by Misses Gwen Therkleson, and L. I. Laurence. A dainty supper was served. Mr. A. E. Lfiitrence (eha ; rman), exposed the pleasure of being able to give all the boys a hearty welcome on behalf of himself and all local residents, it being a much greater pleasure to welcome them Tjome than to farewell them when they went away. Dancing was kept going until about 1.30. i During the evening, Mr. Gray, of Stratford, pleased tiie company with a ' song. j Tfiia Bistrirt is suffering the loss of some of its oldest and mo 3£ respected settlers. I I hear that Mr. Jones has disposed j of his property, and that Mr. Knowles, I senr., is also leaving the district. J3oth I these families will he greatly missed as they have J)een swh cnerg&tie workers in patriotic functions, etc.
