FARMERS AND CURTAILED TRAINS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, July 12. The Waikato sub-provincial district of the Farmers' Union expressed dissatisfaction at the railway curtailment, and appointed a committee to confer with the miners regarding a scheme of cooperation among miners. I,t was considered thit if the miners were given an interest in the mines they would produce more. ' INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
Wellington, July i2. The Minister of Public Health stated to-day tha.t- a scheme is to bo inaugurunder which advice as to outbreaks of infectious diseases will be received by cable from all parts of the Empire. Certain information is already being received, South Africa, for instance, having advised tha.t during the" week ended July 5 there were 6700 cases of influenza within her borders, and in the same period 196 deaths.
