HUNTING.
NORTH TARANAKI HOUNDS. The North Taranaki Hunt met at Messrs Mabon and G. Wray's properties, Walhi, on Thursday, and an excellent day's sport resulted. The weather was perfect, hounds in tip-top form, and hares strong and straightgoers Those following had n hnril afternoon, but enjoyed the sport linmeftsoly. There were one or two spills, but taking the jumping all through, It was a splendid exhibition, especially as the Held wns a large one. At about 4 p.m. the mastor, Mr. A. H. Halcombe, called a halt and the gathering adjourned to Mr. Wray's residence, where Mrs. Wray, with the assistance of mine lady friends, entertained those present to nn enjoyable afternoon tea, at the conclusion of which Mr. Halcombe, in fin appropriate speech, thanked Mrs. Wray. Mr. Wray,. Mr. Maben (whom he also welcomed home again) and the adjoining farmers, foe the excellent wny in which the hunt had been treated.
