THE ROBS RIFLE. London, July 10. The War Otflce, in response to the Blsley Committee's Inquiry, lias confirmed that the Rons Is not a service rifle. Probably the Australian and New Zealand toams will visit America to participate in shooting competitions. NEW PLYMOUTH DEFENCE RIFLE CLUBI In the final competitions for the New Plymouth Deienee Kiilo Club's Thursday cup, the winner Is Kiflcmun Christiansen, and tile Saturday eup, Deputy-President Rantson. The following are the leading aggregates: Thursday cup, Christiansen, 41T; Ramson 'lO7. Saturday ciio, BumSon 394, .larvls 374, Blanehett 372.
The range will bo available for practice this afternoon, and on next Thursday and Saturday the second competition for the junior members' cup will be taken; ranges, 300 and 51)0 yards, (feather permitting. Junior members must understand that the competition will close on the Saturday, and any competitor omitted can lie reinstated only under exceptional circumstances. Handicaps for the match will appear later.
