SOME FRIESIAN RECORDS. Mr. L. Hitchcock, Lower Normanby ■road, Manaia. has two pedigree Friesiaiu under semi-official test that are putting up a linn record. Waihi Lass in 310 days made 17,722.31b milk and 037,071b fat. Waihi Buttercup's record for 2DO days is 14,9441b milk and 605.341b fat. Her most recent test was 4.9 Waihi Lass required to make 3501b to qualify, but she should go well over 7001b before she finally finishes. This cow, it may be remembered, traces her descent from •Sir de Kol Tnka Pieterfe. Mr. Hltchock took over his present Friesian herd from Mr. J. Deacon, who founded it in 1012, and two of his foundation cows were the two above mentioned. Other were Buttergirl, Waihi Beauty, Belle of Brooklands, etc. The foundation aire was Paul Pontine da Kol, but Inst season Butterboy (Brooklands Segis— Buttercup) was mostly used.—Star.
