SEQUEL TO WANGANUI ' DISTURBANCE. By Telegraph.—ftess Association. Wanganui, July 9. As a sequel to last night's disturbance, three Maoris, John Waldron, Te Mana Taputoro, and Rapiha Martene, appeared in court to-day. The two former were charged with obstructing the police in the execution of,their duty, and. thelatter with using obscene language and resisting the police. They were sentenced to two months' iiupriMnment each. The three men are returned soldiers. The magistrate remarked that a uniform or returned soldiers' badge was not going to save them, or be a cloak for larrikiniam. It would 1» wrong to treat «uch actions lightly, as it would hriny. the uniform into disgrace. When wearing the uniform the men ohould Behave like gentlemen, not like larrikins Ther» was too -much of this sort of thing going on throughout the Dominion and the police wp.ro not to he interfered with when doing .their duty.
