FIGHTING AT FIUME. BETWEEN FRENCH AND ITALIANS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 9, 7.30 p.m. Rome, July 7. Fighting occurred in Fiume between the French and Italian troops, in which ten French were killed. and thirty wounded. The trouble was due to the public impression that France was the main obstacle to Italy's Fiume aspirations. The climax was quickly reached when the report gained currency, though unconfirmed, that a French soldier tore the Italian colors from a young woman's breast.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
