IMPROVING CONDITIONS. ly Telegraph.—Pres3 Association. Wellington, July 8. As the result of enquiries made some months ago as to housing sanitation anil water supply at minins townships 1 in the Dominion, special reports have been prepared by inspectors under the control of the Public Health Department of housing, etc.. at every mining township in New Zealand. These reports have been submitted to the 'Hon. G. W. Russell, who has instructed that p, general report be prepared dealing with gold mining townships in one, and coal mining townships in another with a view of legislation being prepared for the improvement of conditions.
