ANARCHIST MOVEMENT SPREADING. Received July 8, 6.5 p.m. Rome, July 7. The anarchist movement is spreading from the smaller towns to the cities. Anarchists syndicalists in the province of Bologna usurped the powers of the municipalities and issued decrees regulating food prices.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
FOOD DISTURBANCES. London, July 4. Extensive disturbances, tinged with anarchy, are reported from Northern Italy. These were especially violent at Bologne and Florence. They were due to excessive prices. The Government is seizing stocks and fixing low prices. Every food shop in Florence has been looted.—Reuter.
