WEDDING.
DAWSON-HUGHSON. At tho Methodist Church, Rahotu, on Wednesday, July 2nd, the marriage was solemnised of Miss Alice Mcleod Huglisnn second daughte. of Mr and Mrs T. P. Hushs.'n. of "Victoria Villa," Rahotu, to Gerald Douglas Dawson, second son of Mr, and Mrs. W. B. Daman, of "Blymhill Park," Kabul Road, Hahotu, the Itev. Strand botng the officiating minister. The church was prettily decorated, and crowded with relatives and Interested friend!. Ttu bride, who was given away by her father, was daintily attired In a charming gown of crepe <Je chfee, veiled over with ntnon. The bodice, which wee composed of shadow lace, was mounted on 'be lower part with a band of pearl and bead trimming, the left side being draped with crept de chine, finished with pearl trimming. The undo of the skirt conformed to the one-sided effect of the bodice, and war embroidered to match. The veil was of Limerick lace, and. held in position by pearlß and orange blossom. The bridegroom's present—a beautiful pearl and diamond ring—was worn by the bride, nod « lovely shower bouquet completed the delightful toilet. Three bridesmaids were In attendance, the chief being Miss Mabel Hughson,. sister of the bride, who was attired in a robe of pale < pink crepe do chine, hand-worked The two younger bridesmaids—Misses JSUeen Hughson and Margaret Dawson, sisters of the bride and bridegroom, respectively—wore bocks of pale cansry crepe de chine, with touches of lamder and black. All wore pretty hat* to match, carried lovely bouquets, and wore their gifts ' of dainty brooches. The bride's mother wore a crepe de chtne-sllk costume, finished with Oriental trimming, with, a bat of silk and relret of the same shade. The bridegroom's mother wore black silk eollenne,. trimmed with level)' Maltese lace, the lace having been seat by the Bridegroom while on active service in Egypt and Palestine. Her hat was a stylish one, trimmed with white osprey. Mr. B. A. Layard friend of the bridegroom, filled the position of beat man, Mr. C. T. Dawson being groomsman. ' A reception was afterwards held at the residence of the brlde'a parents, where over TO guests were entertained, and the usual touts tre honored. The bride travelled in a tailor- > made navy costume, hat and fur to match. Tbe happy couple were the recipients of many ' | handsome and useful presents. Hey leftb/ motor, midst the cheers of many blends, tor New Plymouth, on their way to Avklsnd. On their return, they Intend to tale up their residence in the Xahotu district
