THE RAILWAY SERVICE.

DISPUTES SETTLED FOR THE PRESENT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, July 2. The loco, men have not yet announced their final decision, but the general impression is that the railway disputes are settled for the present. The men are receiving their increased pay, but other adjustments promised by the Department are held up pending the acceptance of the conditions by the loco, men's organisation. The head office is not prepared to make .these adjustments, which involve reduoed hours and other concessions, until the three railwaymen's organisations have accepted the Department's oilers.
