The Chief Justice recently quashed an indictment for bigamy against James Jackson in consequence of the decision in a previous case, where a second marriage had been contracted beyond the shores of New Zealand. An announcement has been made by the Minister for Justice that authority had been given for judges of the First Division of the Court of Appeal to Bit with judges of the Second Division to hear a special case submitted to them of King v. James Jackson. Special authority was required, and it had been given by Order-in-Council.'
