Wanganui reports the death of Mr. George H. Dickson, engineer to the Waitotara County Council, aged 67. Mr. Clutha Mackenzie, son of Sir Thos. Mackenzie, High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, who came out to Australia as the guest of Lord Jellicoe on H.M.S. New Zealand, arrived in Wellington on Wednesday by the steamer Armagh, \yhich brought a load of coal from Newcastle.
' The death of Miss Jane Coupland Harding, a very old and respected resident of Napier, took place recently. Misa Harding arrived with her parents at Hawke's Bay in 1859, being an infant at the time, and was one of the original members of the W.C.T.U. and a prominent member of the Presbyterian Church,
Our Eltham correspondent writes that universal regret will be felt at the death, which occurred yesterday, of Mr, W. W. Stanners. Deceased, although only 52 years of age, was an old identity in tho Bcnse of being a resident of Eltham for many years. In the early days of the town he was in business with his brothers, Thomasi and Henry. Later on he entered into partnership as cabinetmaker with Mr. Gooder, the firm a few years ago selling out to Messrs Manley and Towers. The late Mr. Stanners took a prominent part in Oddfellowship, and was for a term a borough councillor. He leaves a widow and adult family, who will have the sympathy of all in .their bereavement.
