TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES CONFERENCE.
HOSTILITY TO ONE-MAN CAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At the Dominion conference of tramway employees It Was resolved to urge tho Government to refuse to sanction the introduction of the "one-man car," on the grounds that a car mraUa a conductor is unsafe; that the responsibility On the motorman is too great, and that the safety of life and limb warrant the retention of the dual system at present in-vague. The action of ,the Transport Advisory Board in linking up. with the Miners' Federation was approved, and it waS( agreed to grant affiliation to officers of the unions.
