RESTRICTED TRAIN SERVICE.
THE By Telegrapk—Press Association. Wellington, June 28. The Railway Department notifies that under the- curtailed railway services *U the express and mail trains will be sag* pended. Travel between Wellington and And* land will occupy three days, the nights being spent at Taumaranui and xalnieraton North, en route. The journey from Wellington to New Plymouth will take two days, and the * journey to Napier several hours longer, while on the Wairarapa ,the through mail trains have been cut out. In view of the curtailment the department has had to limit the commodities which will be accepted for con* vcyance. These will be confined .to food stuffs, fuel and necessary household requisites. , • •
AUCKLAND TO WELLINGTON.;IN, THREE DAYS, Travel between Wellington and AdSk« land will occupy three days. The first; stage will be by 2 pjn,' train from Wellington to Palmerston North, where the traveller will remain overnight The second stage will be 7 a.m. from Palmerston Nor,th to Taumarunui, arriving at the latter station about 8 tun., and then from Taumaranui at 7.16 AJtt. Ott the following (third) day. The down Journey, Auckland to Wellington, will ■occupy a similar period. A train for Wanganui will leave Wellington at 8.4 p.m. Posengers for its.- 1 tions beyond Wanganui to New My* mouth will have to stay overnight at Wanganui, leaving there at 7.85 fSdty next day.
