DENIZEN'S SUCCESSES. IMPORTANT RESULTS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.--Copyright. Received June 27, 8.30 p.m. London, June 26. General Denikin's advance has freed upwards of 70,000 square miles of country and captured 50,000 Bolsheviks. It is estimated that the conquered territory will yield General Denikin a quarter of a million of men, which is considreably more than he at present commands. Denikin has now secured the Donetz coal basin, and deprived the Bolsheviks of the most fertile grain country in Russia.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
A BOLSHEVIST'S STAATEMENT. Received June 27, 1.30 p.m, London, June 30. A wireless message from Zurich gives an interview with Tchiclierin, who alleged that there had been evidence of German-Japanese negotiations for a considerable time before the Kaiser's downfall, whereby combined action against Russia was planned with a view to Japan securing a free hand in Siberia on condition that Germany permitted fcho fullest exploitation of Russia. Tchiclierin asserted that the documents had been obtained from the Foreign Office in Berlin. Possibly the documents refer to the pro-German party in Japan which several times during the war threatened trouble.—Aus. N.Z. Cable Assn. THE WILY HUN. Paris, June 16. Official inquiries into the condition of Esthonia Corn-land and Lithuania show that German troops under von der Goltz are increasingly aggressive, especially in the east. At the outeet their presence was reparded as a check against the Bolsheviks, but latterly they have rather strengthened the Bolshevist cause by striving to secure territory for Germany.—Aus. > TI *.
