INDIGNANT OVER STATKMENT. •Received June 27, 10 p.m. Sydney, June 27. In a cable, replying to Sir James Allen, the stranded New Zealanders express strong resentment at the Hon. G. W. Russell's statement published in the Sydney papers that the stories of dietress among them form a part of the propaganda in Sydney to force the position at the New Zealand end. Tie strandeds' message adds: "The cases brought to the notice of our executive have been fully and carefully investigated. The distress is sot only real but acute in many cases, and the fact that the New Zealand tJovermnent agent has already disbursed over £2OO, 75 per cent, to munition workers, accentuates the need for additional help." The message points out that the strandeds' executive, wishing to protect the Dominion public in every way, agreed at the outset to submit to any duration of quarantine that New Zealand imposed. It protests that under the existing distressful conditions efforts at repatriation should not be characterised as propaganda. All is due to neglect of the health authorities to provide adequate nnarantine accommodation.
