MONTHLY MEETING. There was a much better attendance at the monthly meeting of the .Women's Christian Temperance Union on Wednesday than might have been expected considering the stormy weather. Reports for the provincial council at Wanganui East were requested to be sent in to Mrs Griffin, Gilbert Street, also the name of any member who would attend as delegate. This council comemnces on Wednesday, Jvtly 9, by a reception in the evening. Thursday will be taken up with business. It is anticipated that after the July monthly meeting, the meetings in New Plymouth will be much more frequent, possibly every week, ,to prepare for the coming general election and licensing campaign.
