CANADIAN STRIKE COLAPSES.

The executive of the Labor Party has issued a manifesto denouncing the extremists, who are conducting a disguised I.W.W- campaign to wreck the unions. FLAXMILLING 'tIFFICULTY. Recently some flaxmills in the Foxton district recommenced operations, the men agreeing to work" at the reduced scale of wages offered by t^ e Flax 1 - millers' Association. These mills nave now had to close again, the men, at the instance of the union, having downed tools and refusing to work for less than the minimum of 14s per day insisted on by the union.

OFFER TO SHEARERS. Wellington. Last Night. Sheep-owners have agreed to pay additional 2/6 per 100 for shearing, 5/- per week to shed hands and .presser, making shearers' rates 30/- per 100 and found, £2 15s and found for flhed hands, and £3 15s and found for cooks. The shearers' representatives have acecpted the rate for shearers, but objected to the rates for the other workers and to the non alteration of the condition. The offer as to be submitted to the unions.
