BLENHEIM OIL BORE.
I There has been' considerable delay in Becuring ,the wire rope necessary in connection with operations at the Blenheim bore and with the object of expediting delivery after actual arrival in New Zealand arrangements were made to have the cable dispatched by rail from Wellington, but further delays ensued, for, although it was landed at Wellington on Saturday, May 31, it did not reach New Plymouth until June 10.. Immediately on arrival here it was installed, and the new string of casing is now being steadily inserted in the well. As the casing is more than a mile long, and as every joint has to be most carefully screwed together, some days must yet elapse before this work will be completed, after which drilling will be resumed. With the new rope and everything in good order, steady progress should then ensue. Mr. Fedorowicz is confident that oil will be struck without drilling much deeper, and is fully prepared for dealing with the oil when reached-
