RACE RIOTS AT BRITISH SEAPORTS!

Race riots at various seaports werethe outcome, not only of white women associating with negroes, but the resentment of ex-soldiera against colored men holding jobs they could fill. At Liverpool a great crowd attacked 1000 negroes from ships and removed white women from the blacks' quarter, demolishing the property of the negroe3, who showed fight, many being wounded, until all were interned pending deportation.
At Cardiff negroes freely used razors and revolvers, a constable and two other men being killed, while fifteen whites were sent to the hospital, besides many slightly wounded. A fierce hunt of negroes continued for two days, during which time houses were raided and burned and property destroyed- The police, by great exertions, and with the aid of soldiers sent to their assistance, saved many negroes from severe handling, ' At Newport the police were compelled to make several baton charges, in which 72 persons were injured. Thirty negroes were arrested at Barry, where an ex-soldier was killed. Thousands raided the negro quarters and hunted them all night through the town. —United Service.
