ANNUAL REPORT.
The report'cpnmtulatejl the'club on the vary satisfactory position, both in regard to finance and membership, and stated that thq indications for the next Season were . very. encouraging. Reference was made to the official opening of the club's green, and to the presence of visitors from the other town clubs, and to their remarks on the very good condition of the green for a, -first season Celts' rinks from the new club had met thp other town clubs, and the experience gained was greatly valued by the members. Satisfaction was expressed at the interest manifested in the ladder com* petition, aad in the keen competition for the Pioneer Cup for the championship singles. Thailka • was expressed for the donations in cash and gifts for the green. Appreciation was also expressed of the kindly feelings on the part of members of other clubs towards the new Vogeltown club. Special mention was made of .the voluntary work done by Messrs H. Benton, C. Dobson, B. Tooke, and W Snrman in looking after the green, l The president, in moving the adoption of the report, referred to the state of the green, and said that, with the new seed sown, which was coming away well, and a final top dressing, it would be in good fpnn for next year. The iPhich was seconded by Mr. H. V- S. Griffiths, who also joined in the general congratulations to the cjnb on the success of the past season and ,the prospects for the future, was carried unanimously. §

It was decided to affiliate with the Taranaki Centre. The question of club colors was referred to the incoming committee. The subscription was filed at £2 10s per annum, with a rebate of 8s if paid by December 31.
Mr. Dobson's offer of a torphy valued at £3 3s for competition was accepted, and he was thanked for the same, the conditions of the competition being left to the committee to arrange. Votes of thanks were passed to the donors of cash and gifts towards the green, and to those who had donated their debentures to the club, to the ladies for dispensing afternoon tea on several occasions, to Messrs Benton, Dobaon, Tooke, and Suxman for their work on the green, and ,to the retiring officers. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
FITZROY BOWLING CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETOTG. The annual meetttbj ,of the Ktzroy Bowling Club was held at the pavilion last night. The president (Mr. S. Smith) occupied the chair, and there were about 18 present.
ANNUAL REPORT.
The president's report congratulated the members on having had a successful season, both in regard to finance and in the various tournaments. , The receipts J?£» en a leßs thMI expenses, but £32 _lls of loan and debenture money had been paid off, donations bad been £2O less, and wages, interest, and general expenses had increased, so that altogether the position was sound, pjactically the whole of the debentures, amounting to £l6O, had been disposed of, the only remaining onea being to the value of &5, held by Mr. a M. Skeet. The dub e thanks were due to those who had donated their debenture*, the amount written off under this head be-' mg £IOO. In the Citizens' Match a club rinß, consisting of Oxenham, Buckle, Rujidle and f" r '»V'x?°« he contest - 0,16 rink - skipped by McNeill, competed in the New Zealand tournament at Auckland, and one skipped by Price competed at Palmerston. Congratulationfi were offered to the players who took fart in the pairs tournament at Easter. The club also participated in the Banner and Gilmour * and the usual annual match was played at Fitzroy with St. John a (Wanganui), the home elufc winning. In the club competitions McNeill won the championship singles, and V. As Mr. Price was unable to continue the work, tbe committee recommended the appointment of a green committee. Thanks was also expressed to the tecretary (Mr. A g. The Croquet Glub reported a euccessMatches had* been played with the Park and Waitara Clubs, ind a club competition was commenced but not completed. The subscriptioni amounted to £8 Is* 6d. Thanks were expressed to Mr. Jury (green warden), afr. Hurle (caretaker), and to the members of the bowling, club committee for assistance during the Tho reports and balance-sheet were adopted, on the motion of the chairman seconded by Mr. Oxenham. . The following were sleeted members: Mmm S. G. Smith, M.P., L. jr. Fairhall, ana J. G. Barttiorp. It was decided to ihold a special general meeting of the clyb on July 8, principally to ooneider the matter of bylaws.

The president reported that in connection with the TawwM tournament and the proposal to hold one of the semi-, final matches on the Fitzroy green on a Sunday, he had intimated to the executive that he could not consent to a tournament match being played on th» club's green without consulting the committee. He said that the general public, who supported bowling, were eiir titled to consideration, and while he had no objection to quiet club play on Sunday, when it oanje to tournament matches he thought it was carrying bowling a bit too far to have them played on Sunday.—Mr. Smith's action was confirmed.
The chairman reported that a nubcommittee had teen sot up for the purpose of going into the matter of beautifying the club grounds. " •
It was decided that for all local- tournaraentg the board system of selecting rinks be adopted.
Votes of thanks were passed to those who had donated their debentures to the club, to Mr. Sole for surveying the greens, and to the retiring secretary and green warden, to the ladies, and to the prcsa.
A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the meeting.
