ENTERTAINMENTS.

EMPIRE THEATRE. THE KENNEDY SEASON. The Kennedy Company need no introduction to musical circles in New Plymouth. On the several occasions upon which they have appeared here their entertainment lias 'been a standard centre of attraction. Their return next Friday and Saturday at the Empire Theatre provides cause for pleasure to music-loving people, and, indeed, among' lovers of good entertainment generally. Concerts and recitals have been all too few in the years of war. The particular drawing card ol the combination is again Mr Keith Kennedy, a violinist whose skill and artistry have but rarely been surpassed by even the greatest of visiting artists. Another extremely gifted artist is Miss Bronwen Eairhall, a Queensland soprano, who is attracting a lot of attention. Miss Minnie BoaidjiotT is the balladist of the company, and that sterling pianist, Mdihe. Bertha Kennedy, is musical directress. The fun caterers are Jlr AdCree and Miss Jennie Cree. The former is a Scotch comedian with a rich, racy i manner, an inimitable Gaelic sense of I humor, and a fund of good songs and stories; while the latter is said to lend distinction to the art of singing songs from the piano stool. The company will give two concerts only, and the plan ppens at Collier's to-morrow morning.

* EVERYBODY'S. TOM MOORE IN "THIRTY A WEEK." Patrons of Everybody's are well catered for in "Thirty a Week," the comedy-drama at the hea<J of the current bill. Tom Moore appears as a chauffeur, who teaches the of the house where he is employed how to drive her new speedster. In the teaching they fall in love with each other and marry. The girl's father is annoyed, and has her husband dismissed i from several positions, and the couple find it hard to keep the wolf from the door It. is the succeeding incidents that make the story interesting. A motor car race for a big wager, and divorce proceedings, provide interesting episodes- that lead up to a fine climax. The latest Pathe Gazette, and other interesting films are also included*. Tonight will be the final screening.

I THE PEOPLE'S. ] VIVIAN MARTIN. | There is one girl with three lovers j in "Viviette," Vivian Martin's latest t Paramount play, commencing to-night at the People's. The beauty and, winsomcness of Vivian Martin, the interest of the storv, the charm of the photo-play, all combined to make this photo-play one of the most delightful seen for many months. Undoubtedly "Viviette" is the best, picture story Miss Martin has had for some time, and the sprightjy little star makes the most of her opportunities in the nart of the frivolous, irresponsible little English girl, who waken up to her responsibilities in time to make amends. "The Railroad Raiders" (No. 3), entitled 'inside Treachery," the latest gazette, pietograph, and comedy, make up a fine programme.
