Mr. F. Oldham, formerly of Mangorei, is seriously ill in the Public Hospital.
Gunner S. F- Richards, Bell Block, is due at Wellington, on Wednesday next in the transport Frinzessin. Miss Alice Cooker, of New Plymouth, had the B.A. degree conferred upon her at the recent capping ceremonies in Wellington.
Mr. C. K. Wilson, of Pio Pio, who sat in Parliament for three years, will definitely contest the newly-created Waitomo electorate at the forthcoming elections' Mr. Richard P. Lieut. C. H. Drew, of New Plymouth, late of the Royal Air Force, left on May 31 for New Zealand, via Australia. Other Taranaki men who are coming by the same vessel are: Second-Lieut. Lucena (StratfoTd), and Second-Lieut. H. Saward (Whangamomona). The formal installation of the Rev. John Wilkinson as vicar of St. Aldan's ( Anglican Church, Remuera, in the place of the Rev. Arthur Fowler, who has gone to Kngland, took place on Wednesday evening. The Bishop, Dr. A. W. Averill, conducted the service. Mr. Wilkinson was formerly curate at St. Mary's, New Plymouth.
