GIANT PLEASURE AIRCRAFT.
"Giant dirigibles will soon be hitched lo New York city sky-scrapers to take on and off passengers," is prophesied by Mr Augustus Pott, secretary of the Aero Club of America, who also predicts that seal and whale-fishing will be promoted by the airplane, and that hereafter the possibility of an airman being lost in unknown stretches of land or water would be obviated. Mr Post told of a device now near perfection which will keep the airman't' route mapped out lover an area of many. thousands of square miles. Experts have been experimenting successfully with a new non-inflammable gas, and when it is ready to' be commercialised 1000 ft dirigibles will 'be built' which will have a muting radius Of at' ieast 20,000 miles. These dirigibles, says Mr Post, caii be fitted up for pleasure parties and with a root garden arid balconies. They will be extensively used, ntonly for pleasure purposes, but also for commercial uses. He declared that within a few years there would be. thousands of air tourists in New York State, and that with the Atlantic successfully crossed there would.bg .established mail and passenger routes from America to Europe.
