The Australian Press Association learns that the Czecho-Slovak, Roumanian, and Hungarian struggle has ended as the result of the Council of Four's Note of the 14th, ordering hostilities to ceaße and the armies to retire to their rational boundaries. The Hungarians accordingly stopped their offensive. situation is still strained between Austria and the Jugo-Slavs. The Italians have apparently undertaken a new move against the Jugo-Siav advance in the Klagenfurt area by occupying villages, but the Jugo-Slavs have now got all they want, so it is ! hoped that no further trouble will occur between the Italians and Jugo-Slavs. The Roumanian left, assisted by the Poles, have taken the offensive against the Bolsheviks in Galicia. The Bolsheviks retired 50 miles in Northern Russia. The satisfactory British advance contihues with the slightest loss. Our motor flotilla is contesting the command of Lake Onega, aided by aeroplanes. ! The Bolsheviks are evacuating Dvinsk. The Esthonians and Germans have | concluded an armistice, through the medii ation of the British, French, and American representatives, but the Germans continue their propaganda in Esthonia, The situation in the Ukraine is chaotic. There are seven distinct risings against the Bolsheviks. General Deniken has reached the Volga, and is advancing in Astrakhan.
