NARROW ESCAPE OF MEMBERS OF GOVERNMENT. Received June 19, 8.50 p.m. London, June 18. According to a Copenhagen message, two uniformed Spartacists overpowered the guard at a temporary military prison in Waimar and liberated sixty prisoners. The latter stormed the barracks, seized arms, and proceeded to the castle, where the German president and Ministers were staying, but the timely arrival of troops frustrated the attempt to capture the Government.—Aus.-N.Z- Cable Assn.
