Wanganul to-day was played in glorious weather, the attendance being over 10,000. In the first spell Te Auto held the ascendancy, and compiled 10 points. Play In this spell at times was very brilliant In the second half, during early stages, Tft Ante again scored. Thereafter Wanganul continually pressed, but wers unable to penetrate the defence until about 10 minutes before tune, when they compiled 12 points In rapid succession. The game ended: Te Aute, 13; Wanganul, 12. Pelna (2) and Cerates scored trios for the winners. Pine convening two. For Wanganul, D. Ormond (3) Ufl Woollams scored tries.
In the junior match Te Aute proved superior |ta Wanganul by 12 points to 0. For the winders Tahuwi scored four tries, none of which .were converted. Bailey scored for Wanganul, ibut the tries were not converted.
STAR v. CLIFTON. The> following players will represent Star lagalast Clifton at the racecourse on Saturday ■next, at 3 p.m.: Backs: G. Petch, E. J. Hamltng, C. Bourke, IK. Jury, N. Brockenshlre, F. ' JUNIOR COMPETITION. The following was omitted from the referees' appointments for this week: Clifton v. Inglewood, at Waltara, 3 p.m. 'Mr. Humphries. The Eltham Second Juniors have notified that they will not be able to commence their match with Star until 3 p.m. Mr. Roberts will take this match. Owing to there being only one ground available, the second junior match at Waltara on Saturday will commence at 1.39 p.m. A team will selected from the following to represent Star 2nd Juniors in the match to be played on Recreation Ground to-day at 3 p.m.: Hedley, Boon (2), Hoffmann (2), Scrimgeour, HosHn, Aioore, 31111s, Hosllin, Pellew, Roberts, James, Klbby, Haldane, Bishop, Jefferles, Spence, Loveridge, Curline, Harris.
