REV. ELLIOTT'S ALLEGATIONS.

Howard Elliott made reference to the criticism by the Returned Soldiers' Association, telegraphed from Various towns, based upon remaTks attributed to him in his address at Woodville. He said he was made to assert that Roman Catholics were running were running and con' trolling the Returned Soldiers' Association. The inembera were indignant, and they had reason, for he never made any such statement. Mr. Elliott, said that what he did say was that Catholics have been put into important positions in the association, and that Protestants must see their interests are not interfered With by this.
